Hi. I’m Lizzy. I’m your brand-new co-host of The 949 HOM Morning Show and full honesty...

I’m terrified.

Check out the video of my journey below.

Let’s just call this what it is.. a first date. You’re curious. I’m nervous. I’m trying way too hard to be charming. You’ll learn about me, I’ll learn about you, and by the end of this maybe you’ll swipe right. Or maybe you’ll block me, either way, I’m plugging my nose and jumping in with both feet.

I live in Lewiston with my beautiful little family, my wife, Nelly and 8-year-old son, Bentley, who is without question, the center of my universe.

Now, here’s how it all began..

I was born in Pennsylvania and bred in Maine, and I’ve always loved to entertain.

Whether it was a hairbrush mic in the bathroom or a backyard performance for my YiaYia and Poppy, I was always putting on a show. And making people laugh is my absolute favorite part of being alive.

It was my birthday in 2021 when I got the call from Director of Content for Townsquare Media, Cooper Fox, telling me that after 2 years of auditions and interviews, I was the new co-host of the 92 Moose Morning Show with Matt James. I squealed, screamed, I shouted.

I signed my first talent contract with 92 Moose, and I thought I’d ride that morning show into the radio sunset with Matt James, forever.

I never imagined that almost 4 years later, I’d be writing a letter like this. Matt & Lizzy in The Morning gave me my voice, my confidence, and a deep connection to all of you in Central Maine, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.

While the morning chapter is closing, I’m not going far, I’ll still be with you on 92 Moose every weekday from 10am to 3pm.

But you know how life is.....it tapped me gently on the shoulder, handed me a much bigger microphone and said, “Hey, kid. You’re up.”

That kind of offer makes you want to jump for joy and poop your pants a little.. no pressure.

And come to find out it was Lori who chose me.

Here's why I still can't believe it. She’s the very woman, the very voice, that made my world feel safer on those rides to school, when I was small, self-conscious, and searching for a place where I belonged. That is what morning show hosts do. That is their superpower.

I grew up with Lori and even told my mom, I want to do that.

After much thinking and talking with my family, I decided to accept.

So, for the past month, I’ve been living a double life. Secretly co-hosting and training on HOM’s morning show in Portland while still doing mornings with Matt on Moose. That kind of thing doesn’t happen had has never been done before.

And now, I can finally say it: I’m joining 94.9 HOM as their new morning show host alongside Jeff Parsons.

I’m the kind of woman who leads with her heart and bets on belief. At 39 years old, I’m truly stepping into the life I used to only dream about.

And now, I am taking my first steps into a studio that has helped shape Mainers mornings for decades, next to a man, I deeply admire. Jeff Parsons is a true pro and I get to do it with Lori’s blessing echoing in my heart.

To my Moose listeners: you helped shape the broadcaster I’ve become. You made me feel like I was doing something worthwhile every single morning for you. I’ll never forget that.

And to my future HOM listeners: Hi. I’m Lizzy. I’m a little loud, a little weird, wildly passionate, and deeply human. I believe mornings matter. I believe laughter is sacred. And I believe in showing up, fully and honestly, every single day.

Let’s do this. Let’s make magic in the mornings, together.

So this is a love letter to Moose Nation, to my new HOM family, and to the little girl in the backseat of a van listening to Lori, who is now the woman stepping up to her mic.

Here we go.
