Do you have a long commute to work and/or sit for long periods of time while your work? This could be doing your body more harm than good. Here are a couple things to watch out for and what you can do to improve your situation, thanks for our good friends at The John Tesh Radio Show.

Our daily commutes to work are not always in our control. So, you have to make the most of it. If you have a long commute, the folks on the Tesh Intelligence Team recommend every morning getting something healthy in your belly before you get on the road. Commuting long distances not only exposes you to prolonged sitting but pollution. It's be found that in some cases this can decrease our longevity.

Sitting too much is also a challenge to your mental and physical well being. If you're in your car all day and then you get to work and you’re sitting for eight hours straight.  That puts a big strain not only on our skeletal system but also our overall health.  We also tend to eat whatever is convenient and close by.  So whether it’s poor snacking or poor choices when we go to lunch. If we're going to be working all day and be often stressed out, it's a good idea to focus on healthy eating.

Proper desk set-up when it comes to ergonomics, actually improves or decreases the stress we place on our spine, decreases the stress on our eyes, reduces our risk of everything from carpal tunnel disease to other little nagging things that can cause us pain and long term disability.

Here it is straight from the Tesh Team.
