Women of Portland – Be Careful Walking in the West End Alone

Three violent attacks against women have occured in Portland's West End since April. WGME reported in all three assaults the women were walking alone in the area of Congress St between Neal and Weymouth Streets when the attacker approached them from behind. They were grabbed, choked and in one case the attacker took the victims bra. Despite the fact that no serious injuries have resulted from this, it is still extremely concerning. The Portland police department has requested that anyone walking in those areas to be on high alert.

The suspect is described as a white, heavy set male with long blonde hair and at least two piercings on his lower lip.  If you have witnessed any of these assaults or know someone who matches the description of the suspect notify them immediately.
