Where is Maine's hottest market in 2018? Well, if the data from 2017 is any guide, the answer certainly isn't Portland.

When trying to figure out how hot each city's market is, the website MaineLifeRealEstate.com uses a variety of different factors to get an answer, like how many units are available, how fast they sell above or below asking price, average sale price increases, and more.

For the purposes of this list, we're looking at the towns who have sold more units in 2017 than they did in 2016. What cities and towns had the largest increases in home and condo sales from year to year?

#9 GORHAM

According to this data, Portland actually had a pretty sizable drop-off of units available on the market, but that can certainly be a driver of prices and desirability as well. All of these factors can make a market "hot," but these top 10 towns are certainly leading the state in the most real estate being bought and sold here in Maine.
