Can you believe I had never tried it until this moment?

It's true. In all of my years living in New England, I ever got around to trying chowder. It just didn't look all that appealing to me. Fellow picky eaters...ou know what I'm talking about! You get an idea about how something would taste just by how it looks, and you just decide you want nothing to do with it. And for me, the white chunky stuff that smells funny was not something I'd be trying anytime soon.

However, at a recent clam bake on Cabbage Island in Boothbay Harbor, I din't want to be the only one at the table not enjoying some. So...I gave it a try. You might be surprised at my reaction!
