If you spend enough time on YouTube, you'll come across several different videos mimicking and mocking what is known as the downeast Maine accent. This video, shared from Reddit, is about as good as we've ever seen at dissecting and showing exactly how to find your inner Downeaster, even if you really have to dig it out.

This video comes from Ryan Prescott, who we're going to assume is from Maine. The video begins with a bit of a history lesson, and then a step-by-step tutorial on how to use your R's, O's, and A's. If you follow his detailed instructions, you should be able to speak solid Downeaster lingo... or at least fancy yourself a poor British accent. Well done, Ryan!
