UMaine Hockey Gets Another Tie

Another game ends in a tie for the UMaine hockey team. This time a 1-1 tie against Union College from the ECAC. It's UM's third straight tie to start the new season.

Maine trailed the Dutchmen 1-0 until about the 14-minute mark of the 3rd period. That's when Brian Morgan scored the game tying goal.

The two teams played through a scoreless 5-minute overtime period. Unlike at the Ice Breaker Tournament last week, there was no shootout.

UM goalie Rob McGovern was good again in net, stopping 28 of 29 shots.

Union goalie Alex Sakellaropoulos stopped 33 of 34 shots.

Maine is now 0-0-3. Union is 1-0-2.

The team's meet again tonight at 7pm.
