Maine isn't starved for gorgeous waterfront views. Actually, we're quite spoiled with ocean facing decks and waterside dining at our favorite restaurants. The Royal River Grill House in Yarmouth takes the waterfront restaurant setting to a new gorgeous level. The space was designed by Nicola's Home, a Yarmouth-based interior designer with a reputation for cozy, coastal-inspired decor. I don't know what's more mouth watering at Royal River Grill House -- the food or the design.

Walking into the restaurant feels like entering a cozy oceanfront cottage. The weathered shakes and green trim are an authentic nod to the very Maine dwellings that dot our long coastline.

The walls of the interior dining room are lined with prints of historic Maine and a warm, textured paper. The massive chandeliers cast a soft lighter the tables, which are flanked by upholstered nailhead chairs.

The covered deck dining room outside is an actual design dream come true. Braided rope lights are carefully draped from the ceiling over weathered wood tables. When some restaurants skimp on their outdoor furniture, Royal River Grill House provides comfortable dining chairs and a comfy couch that's just begging for you to sink into it with a glass of wine.

You can take your beverage outside and lean back around the fire pit for an up close view of the boats coming and going in the marina.

See Nicola's Home design at Royal River Grill House for yourself and go get brunch, lunch, or dinner.
