This Vegan Dish At My Fave Portland Chinese Restaurant Is Everything

The Golden Lotus on Congress Street in downtown Portland has become my favorite place for Chinese food. And I am very picky! As I've said before, I grew up eating plenty of Asian food from the world's greatest chef -- my stepmother. I normally order chicken with broccoli over steamed rice or noodles, but I wanted something light to hold me over until dinner time. I saw vegan spinach dumplings on the menu and decided to try them.

My verdict:

These spinach dumplings should be illegal. They are that good! I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian… But if any dish could turn me into one, this would be it.

The lotus flower on the side of every Golden Lotus dish is a nice touch.
