Things To Do in Portland for Valentine’s Day

Our friends from Portland Downtown give us some great ideas on how to make it a romantic weekend to remember!

Whether you're a brand new couple, or have been together for years, there's something for everyone in Portland this weekend for Valentine's Day. Here's the list:

Love in the Longfellow House

Presented by Maine Historical Society

Bring your special someone to a love-themed tour of the Wadsworth-Longfellow House in celebration of Valentine's Day. Come hear about 19th-century courtship rituals and the family's many romances, heartbreaks, marriages, and more — including Henry's honeymoon!

Prior to the tour, enjoy locally-made chocolates by Haven’s Candies, a glass of champagne or sparkling cider, and leave with a reproduction print of a vintage valentine from our collection, and roses from Harmon’s & Barton’s.

“Not Your Average Date Night” at The Escape Room

The adventure game that has gained popularity world-wide arrived in Portland last summer (July 2015). In 60 minutes or less, your group will work as a small team to escape the locked room by cracking codes and solving puzzles. A fun, unique outing for a group of friends, family members, or coworkers. The Escape Room is located next to Port City Music Hall and you can book your session online.

Snuggle up with that special someone and share the romance this Valentine’s Weekend with the Portland Symphony Orchestra. Music’s most passionate moments, guaranteed to make you fall in love all over again! Shows are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

Valentine’s Day Specials at Vena’s Fizz House

Vena’s on Fore Street will be offering a Valentine’s Day special for people who want a cocktail and a small bite before heading out for dinner. Specials will be offered from 2-6pm on Sunday. Folks will be able to choose 2 specialty cocktails and one small bite. Specialty cocktails include the Love Potion #9 (made with gin) and Aphrodite’s Revenge (made with Godiva Liqueur and vodka).

Romantic Valentine’s Dinner at EVO

Come to Evo with the one you love or anyone who loves exceptional food and enjoy our scrumptious five-course Valentine’s Day menu! Offered on both Saturday and Sunday, and reservations are strongly encouraged.

Love Stories at SPACE Gallery

“Six writers taking liberties with their interpretation of a love story”

Sunday. A free community event at SPACE featuring six local writers. They”ll take turns reading their version of a “love story” while you and yours enjoy a hot beverage. Whether you’re the romantic type or sarcastic “Valentine’s Day is lame” type, the evening has something for everyone.

Wine Tasting at LeRoux Kitchen

Saturday from 1-3pm. Dessert wines will be served along with chocolate!
