The Newest Trend is Semicolon Tattoos, and the Meaning Behind Them is Incredibly Touching…

Each of us will experience trials and difficulties in our lives as we learn and grow, that is a given. But for many people, depression and suicidal thoughts are a daily struggle.

A growing trend is bringing awareness to mental health challenges and those who struggle. It's called the Semicolon Project, and was created in 2013 by Amy Bleuel in memory of her father who ultimately took his own life.

So what is the significance?

A semicolon is used by an author to show that the sentence could end, but they are choosing instead to pause... and then continue with their story.

The semicolon project became much more than a website. It became a movement.

Personally, I think this is one of the most beautiful and poignant movements I've seen in a long time.
