Here are some things you may not know about The Maine Christmas Song!

I have to admit that before I moved here earlier this year, I had never heard of the The Maine Christmas Song. But since we started playing all Christmas music on HOM a few weeks ago, it has been one of our most requested songs. So I decided to look into the history of it.

It was written by songwriter Con Fullam, who grew up in Sidney, Maine. It features the vocals of country singer Malinda Liberty.

Fullam wrote the song a week before Christmas in 1987. Over the years it has sold over 100,000 copies, and has raised lots of money for the Maine Credit Union League’s End Maine Hunger campaign.
