That Dreaded Call No Parent Wants
The phone rings in the middle of the night. Once you shake the tiredness, you are in sheer panic. Where is my child? What happened? Usually it's something harmless but for my close friend, Wayne that nightmare all parents have wasn't a nightmare at all. Please, he needs your help.
This handsome couple posed for pictures on a sunny prom afternoon on May 17th. Kyle Etheridge just started working recently getting ready for the real world since graduation is coming up in a few weeks. He was exhausted but wanted to give his girlfriend a great time and was excited to make some lasting memories. What he didn't know was in less than 24 hours he would be paralyzed from the waist down.
My friend Wayne (Kyle's Father) received a frantic call in the early morning hours of May 18th telling him his son had been a terrible accident. He fell asleep at the wheel on the way to work the next morning. Wayne was in Florida and without thinking drove home in less than 25 hours.
Kyle is currently paralyzed from the waist down and there is no guarantee that he will ever walk again. The gutteral pain in Wayne's voice sent me into tears instantly. I don't have children but I cannot imagine how he feels. He has not left Kyle's side even as he is being moved to rehabilitation today. Kyle's new goal is to graduate with his class next month.
Bills from this are astronomical. It could reach one million before all is said and done. PLEASE spread the word on this and share the link below. We would want all the help we could get if we were in this horrible position. If you can donate, even better. Thank you for reading this and spreading the word.
