When you drive into Portland, or walk around it's cobblestone streets, you can feel the history. I have been living in and around Maine for 11 years now, and I could never imagine how the city looked as it was being established and built. I came across a Facebook page called 'Portland Maine History 1786-present', and was amazed at the very old images of Portland. Before streets, there were dirt roads. Before One City Center, it was a parking lot. That is so crazy to see! Let's go back in time with these unbelievable pictures of Portland, Maine.
