I have only been surfing once in my life and that is when I studied abroad in Australia. I did a surfing weekend lesson in Byron Bay and man it was tough! By the end of day one my body was sore and I felt like I was at battle with the ocean all day and lost. On my second day I stood up on my first wave. Don't be too impressed, my instructor pushed my board into the wave at the exact right time and told me when to stand but I did it!! That was quite a long time ago but I am thinking about giving it another whirl! Rumor has it the following beaches have great waves for surfing.

Higgins Beach, Scarborough ME

Pine Point, Scarborough ME

The Cliff House, Ogunquit ME

Gooches Beach, Kennebunk ME

One thing is for sure; I am going to need to get myself a wet suit. This Maine ocean water is way to frigid for a Massachusetts gal like myself. I'll be sure to document my adventures and all the times I go flying off my board for your viewing pleasure. Surfs up, hang ten, etc.
