In a new development of a story that surfaced last week, The Maine Health Inspection Program has instructed Charlotte’s Legendary Lobster Pound in Southwest Harbor to stop sedating lobsters with marijuana before cooking them.

According to WMTW, owner Charlotte Gill, a registered medical marijuana caregiver, was told to stop the procedure while the health department investigates. Gill says that it is impossible for a human to become high by eating a marijuana sedated lobster, as the THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, breaks down in the cooking process.
