This weekend I noticed the temperatures were dropping but it wasn't until my mom posted a video to my timeline that I realized how cold it really was!

Having grown up in an area of Maine usually referred to as "The County" I am familiar with cold weather. At the ages of 9, 10 and 11 and I had a paper route, and I still remember the layer of ice that would form on the outside of my scarf and the little droplets of ice that formed on my eye lashes.

But even I was surprised to find out it had snowed! I mean... it's only October! It usually doesn't snow until at least December right?

For those from away, yes it snowed in Houlton today.

I don't know if this means we're in for an intense winter, but I for one have to admit that while I love this state and love experiencing all four seasons, I am NOT ready for snow storms, shoveling, and cold temperatures.

Looks like it's time to stock up on hot cocoa and flannel shirts!
