Take Your Kids To See Maine Without Spending A Lot [Summer Ideas]

According to an article in the Daily Mail, it costs $495 to entertain your child during the summer.

We say Aw Naw!  Here are some cheap, and free ways to entertain them this summer.

Get outdoors at Mount Agamenticus

Be sure to bring bug spray and SPF protection.  Enjoy a day of biking and hiking in Ogunquit.

Douglas Mountain in Sebago has a really cool feature at the top.

This is an easy trail to the top and when you get there, climb the tower and get a great view of Sebago Lake.  Bring a lunch.

Maine has a desert and you should visit it!

It's located in Freeport so it's not a long drive.  Oh yeah, while in Freeport you gotta get a photo with the most famous boot in Maine.

Be sure to wander the store and see the trout swimming inside the building.

You can always count on a fun stop at Hussey's located in Windsor, just outside of Augusta.

How about spending a little money on a fun game of golf?

Steamboat Landing is located in Naples not too far from the Causeway, the home of the Songo River Queen.  You could take a boat ride on Long Lake.
