Reading With My Daughter

I'll be honest...it took me a while to really enjoy letting my young daughter read to me.

At seven years old, she obviously needs to be reading every day...and I encourage her to do so. By nature, I'm typically an impatient person. So sitting there listening to a story that I have no interest in tends to make me a bit antsy.

But I've learned to focus not on the story, but on my daughter. On how her reading gets better and better with every book she reads. And I also think about how proud I am of her, and how it seems like just yesterday she was this little newborn baby in my arms.

My little girl has come a long way...and one of my favorite places to be is sitting next to her and listening to her read.
