We've all heard that Portland is tops for coffee and food. A new survey has been released putting Portland in the top ten for another survey.

In the top mid size communities category, Greater Portland, Maine ranks #9 in the latest State of American Well-Being Index by Gallup-Healthways. The rating is based on life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, healthy behaviors and basic access to healthcare.  Northern New England does pretty well over-all.  The state of Maine has jumped from #21 to #15 in the state category. Vermont remains steady at #6, just a notch down from #6 the previous year.  New Hampshire has come in at #11 down from #8.  Whatever the ratings, this is a pretty nice area to live.  West Virginia is at the bottom of the heap at #50 and North Dakota is #1.
