Do you work in one of those buildings where you can't open the windows? Do you wonder, if the air quality isn't the best that it could be. Or maybe you just want to improve the air quality of your home. There are solutions that can beautifully resolve those issues.

I was at one of my favorite greenhouses at Broadway Gardens and a sign caught my attention: "Gerbera Daisy: NASA recommended for clean air!" While I wasn't in the market for daisies, I couldn't resist the big beautiful blooms and had to buy one. Since my purchase, I've done a little research to discover the benefits to having Gerbera Daisies in my work & home environment.  Dr. Oz considers the plant to be one of the top 4 to clean up the air, "While most plants release oxygen during the day, their respiratory cycle decreases in the evening hours. However, gerbera daisies continue releasing oxygen all through the night to help you breath and sleep better. Gerbera daisies are especially helpful for those suffering from sleep apnea or breathing disorders." Other plants to add to your work or living space for improved air quality include:

  1. Spider Plants
  2. Philodendron
  3. Boston fern
  4. English ivy
  5. Peace lily
