NH Teen Struggling with Depression Has Life Changing Moment at Starbucks

What the barista wrote on her cup changed her day...and possibly her life.

Beckah Georgy, has been battling demons her whole life. A teenager from Salem, NH, she's dealt with severe bouts of depression and anorexia.

One particular day recently, she was feeling especially down, with suicidal thoughts running through her mind. She stopped at a Starbucks for coffee, and what the barista wrote on her cup completely changed her frame of mind.

Rather than write her name on the cup, the Starbucks employee wrote a very simple message: SMILE.

In an open letter to the barista, Becka wrote exactly how that message made her feel, and how it potentially changed the course of her life.
