This past week I felt pretty crummy, and ended up so sick that I actually couldn't work on Friday. But the virus I ended up with, was pretty lame as far as viruses go.

To be clear i'm not complaining! I am very grateful that I didn't end up with your run of the mill stomach bug. What I did have was a week of terrible headaches, back pain and an extreme fatigue. Which... in the scheme of things makes for a pretty lame virus.

As one friend said, "you had like, the Aquaman of Viruses huh?" And honestly, if viruses had super powers, this virus clearly got the short end of that stick.

Virus X: Hi my name's Virus X and I make people sleepy

Me: Wow... that's a really lame super power... I mean.. that's it? You just... make people sleep a lot?

Virus X: Well, I mean... It comes with a headache and backache too... so...

Me: Oh... cool.

I honestly can't remember ever being this tired, even when I was pregnant. At most I was awake for 2 hours at a time on the worst day. The good news is the worst of it seemed to pass after roughly 48 hours, and I did get a lot of sleep.

However, as a busy lady with no time to be sick I figured you might appreciate a friendly reminder on how to avoid the various viruses that will be circulating during this years cold and flu season:

1. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water

2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

3. Stay away from people who are sick
