Navy Pilot Flies From Middle East to Notre Dame to Propose [VIDEO]

U.S. Navy Lieutenant and 2006 Notre Dame graduate Mark Hahn flew in from the Middle East to surprise his girlfriend, fellow Notre Dame grad Katrina Epperson on Saturday.

Bundled on the sidelines, Katrina had no idea that she’d be seeing her boyfriend. But after flying missions over Iraq and Syria this week, Mark left his squadron and the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush and headed to South Bend, where both his and Katrina’s parents knew of his plan.

On the sidelines with her friends, you can see the shock on Katrina’s face. NBC’s cameras also caught Mark dropping to one knee to propose, and even managed to slip a ring on her finger in the frigid conditions.
