Major Water Main Break Closes Portion Of East Avenue In Lewiston

The Lewiston Police Department is warning motorists that East Avenue between Lisbon Street and Pleasant St. / Bartlett St. is closed, due to a major water main break. That's the section of East Avenue that runs between the Lewiston Mall and the Shaw's Plaza.

The mall and CVS can still be accessed from Bartlett St. from Lisbon St. at Essex St., or you can use Vine St. between the Dunkin Donuts Papa Johns. The entrance and exit to Shaw's will be open from the Pleasant Street side.

This will likely go into the evening commute, so you'll want to find an alternate route until repairs are completed.
