Mainers React To Illegal Balloon Release Proposal

AJ and Nikki asked HOM's listeners if they were for or against a law that would make the release of balloons into the air illegal in Maine. Representative Allison Hepler of Woolwich, Maine proposed the environmental bill that would also allow the state to regulate balloon sales, according to the Bangor Daily News.

AJ and Nikki took calls on the air and put the question on our Facebook page. Here's what we learned…

As you can see from the poll above, 60% of the people who voted are for the proposal. 40% are against it. The results of our on-air survey are mixed; however, more of the callers were against the environmental bill than for it. A few of our listeners said the state of Maine has more important issues to vote on than balloons.
