Competitors for the Lobster Roll version of the “Great American Food Fight” will include Colleen Williams, co-owner of J’s Oyster in Portland, ME. Started in 1977 by Colleen’s mother Janice, J’s has been in business for 37 years. J’s is situated right on the water and they have live lobsters delivered twice a day, from right down the pier. Their famous lobster roll is served on a traditional lightly toasted hot dog bun.

Steve Kingston, the owner of The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport is the other contestant. The Maine eatery has won numerous awards for their lobster rolls. The Clam Shack uses fresh round, white rolls from a local bakery that’s been in business for 100 years. They use only soft shell lobsters and cook them in fresh ocean water, which Steve says creates a naturally sweet seasoning. The finished product is served with your choice of butter or mayonnaise – or both.
Both Colleen and Steve will make lobster rolls for host Steve Harvey, who will sample both versions of the tasty seafood sandwich. The studio audience will determine the winner, however, through a taste test.
