A sweet little girl with Rett Syndrome was the center of attention at King Pine Ski Area in East Madison, New Hampshire. A 24 hour ski-a-thon to benefit Sammy Gillard raised $34,000 towards a special van for her. A great start but more help is needed. According to RettSyndrome.org, "Rett syndrome is a unique postnatal neurological disorder that is first recognized in infancy and seen almost always in girls, but can be rarely seen in boys...Rett syndrome symptoms appear after an early period of apparently normal or near normal development until six to eighteen months of life, when there is a slowing down or stagnation of skills."

She needs $45,000 to complete the fundraising effort and get the specially adapted van. If you can make any type of donation to help, a fundraising page has been set up.
