Most of us have become entirely too dependent on GPS. I learned this lesson the hard way…

I got lost coming back home to Portland, Maine from a work event in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. While driving through the White Mountains, I lost cell service. I didn't know what to do. Even worse, it happened in a remote area. It's not like there's a gas station or other place for miles around where you can stop and ask for directions. I eventually found my way home, but I was panicked, frustrated, and angry at myself for not being more prepared.

AJ and I were talking about my "adventure" on the radio one morning last week, and we wondered what would have happened if I had had a map in the car. Do I even remember how to read one? Is map reading a lost skill?
