If You Always Wanted Your Very Own Torpedo, There’s One For Sale on the Side of the Road in Sanford

File this one under 'Things you never knew could be sold on the side of the road in Maine.'

If you're on route 202 in Sanford headed toward Lebanon, you'll see a trailer hooked up to a riding lawnmower that has a torpedo on it, because who wouldn't want a torpedo? There's a for sale sign slapped on the rear of the weapon and it's going for $4800.

Word is that the FBI has checked this big boy out and answered the question we're all wondering. Yes. It is legal to sell a torpedo. What you do with it though, is up to you. Clearly it's not armed so firing it across Sebago Lake at your loud neighbor is out of the question.

What would someone do with a torpedo? We're stumped, but now we want to watch The Hunt for Red October again.
