A homeless man has hit the jackpot twice, all for being one kind dude.

We first met Eric, a man who had been living on the streets, back in March when YouTube prankster Magic of Rahat gave him the gift of a lifetime. Rahat handed Eric a lottery ticket, but before giving it over to the then-homeless man, he gave the clerk who sold the ticket $1,000 so that Eric could experience the dream of winning the lotto.

Strangers were so overcome with Eric’s selflessness that they started emptying their pockets to give the generous guy a second chance.

The Fundly campaign initially set a bold goal of raising $20,000. It has since collected more than $40,000. The money, as Rahat shared in a nifty graphic, is being used to rent Eric a home for a year and pay for utilities, furniture and clothes. The remainder will be placed in a monitored bank account.

Eric recently got his second boost of a lifetime when Rahat introduced him to his new house in an emotional reveal, during which the formerly homeless man reacted in the characteristically grateful way that made his fans fall in love with him in the first place.

As of now, the fully furnished has few decorations -- but Rahat made sure to at least hang a framed photo of himself, Eric and his cameraman with the words "Best Friends Forever" splashed on the bottom of it.

BFFs indeed.
