The Red Cross in Maine is looking for your help to save lives in the area. Here's what they're doing, and how you can help.

According to The Red Cross, 7 people die every day in a home fire. These deaths could be avoided with proper smoke alarm installation and maintenance. That's why they're holding "Sound The Alarm, Save A Life" smoke alarm installations and safety events here in Maine, and across the country.

You can join the effort by volunteering to help fire departments in your community install free smoke alarms in at-risk neighborhoods, and help develop fire escape plans.

They need all of the help they can get to make this work. You can get more information at SoundTheAlarm.org.
