Five people were killed and one person was badly burned an early Saturday morning fire in Portland where a Halloween party had taken place the night before, according to WMTW.

The Portland television news station reported that Portland firefighters responded to 20 Noyes St. at around 7:17 a.m. State Police told WMTW that seven people escaped without injury and one young man was severely burned, but got out of the house by jumping out a second-floor window.

First responders have set up a family support center at the University of Southern Maine at 35 Bedford St. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
