Fired Because of Child’s Birth

This person lost their job because they missed work, due to the birth of their child. And unfortunately, it's legal in New Hampshire.

Lamar Austin has a lot to be thankful for. He and his wife recently celebrated the birth of their child, the first baby of 2017 born at Concord Hospital.

However, he now has to worry about finding a new job to support his family. Upon notifying his employer that he would miss work because of the birth of his child, he was terminated.

New Hampshire is at "at-will employment" state, which means that workers can be let go for virtually any reason, or no reason at all.
