I have filed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for 8 years for my two sons.  Each year, it became easier.  The form continues to be streamlined. I've learned a number of things over the years. To maximize the amount received for financial aid, file as soon as possible. You can begin filing on January 1st. I usually filed within that first week. Don't delay or wait for deadlines.
