Downtown Portland Is Already Looking For This Year’s Holiday (Christmas) Tree
It sure seems early, but choosing something like the downtown Portland Holiday tree (or Christmas tree if you prefer) takes time to make sure you get the perfect one.
Downtown Portland has begun the search for the 2017 tree that will be lit in Monument Square on November 24th. Ideally they’re looking for a spruce or fir that is 45-60 feet tall and easy to cut down. Trees with power lines near them won’t do. The tree will be cut down and transported from the owner’s property free of charge, and the owner will be invited to the tree lighting celebration with VIP tickets.
