When we think about natural disasters, we immediately think of how hard it is for people. And it is. To lose everything you have ever owned and have to rebuild your life from the ground up... I can't even imagine it. But what about their pets?

According to WMUR, after Hurricane Irma, dozens of dogs were found outside tied to trees, completely abandoned by their owners in Palm Beach County. It is considered animal cruelty, and officials say these owners will be found and prosecuted.

Do you think that these pet owners deserve to face felony charges? My personal opinion is that when you decided to take a pet into your home, you deemed yourself responsible for that animal. People who can find it within themselves to abandon an animal outside in the middle of a life threatening storm don't deserve to have them.

What do you think?
