While I was running errands this weekend, I came across an adult coloring book and decided to buy it. I've been curious about them, especially since I loved to color when I was a little girl. There's been some research suggesting that coloring helps with stress and anxiety. I've been under a lot of pressure lately, so I wanted to try it out.

Does it work? I believe it does. I noticed that my breathing and heart rate were starting to slow down and even out, and I was becoming calmer as I focused on staying in the lines. The particular coloring book I bought had inspirational quotes, which I have always enjoyed reading.

Is it silly for an adult to engage in a "child's activity"? I don't think so. But, don't worry. I won't be sharing my works of art on my social media pages. This is something that is for my eyes only.
