Nothing seems to last forever in Portland's vibrant Old Port and that especially seems to be true at 50 Wharf St. Buck's Naked BBQ Steakhouse will close their Portland location officially on August 20th and will be replaced by a brand new sports bar, with different ownership, in September.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the owners of Buck's Naked have decided to focus their efforts and capital on their other locations of the popular BBQ restaurant in Freeport and Windham. Buck's Naked BBQ Steakhouse opened at 50 Wharf St. four years ago and struggled to maintain it's "family friendly" atmosphere as the evening hours crept in. That section of Wharf St. is known for its often times loud and obnoxious behavior.

The restaurant will be replaced with a sports bar from owner Mark Deane. He plans to call the new spot Mark's Sports with an opening tentatively set for September 1st. Deane also owns Mark's Place as well as Pearl Tap House.
