Last night I tried on 12 dresses for tonight's Damnationland Premiere, and hated almost all of them mostly because of the "flaws" I felt they highlighted on my body.

As someone who advocates for the empowerment of women it feels slightly hypocritical to be so unhappy with my body. And yet, at the same time I know that I am not alone in this. In the age of filters and selfies and photoshopped celebrity cover photos, the message of what is beautiful can easily get muddled.

So when I came across this post this morning it was truly a powerful reminder to me that I am loved for who I am and not what I look like.

I did end up finding a dress to wear to tonight's premier, and I love it! And next time I try dresses on, I'm going to try not to analyze my "flaws" but instead learn to love myself just as I am.

And in case you need your own reminder, don't ever forget that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL just a you are!
