What do you think parents and teens argue about the most? If you have teen-aged children, you probably already know the answer to this question. The hottest topics for heated arguments are cell phone usage and curfews, according to the parenting website, "We Have Kids." Does this sound familiar? We obviously didn't have smart phones back in my day, but the conflict was the same. I vividly remember my father yelling, "Get off the damn phone!" These days, parents argue with their kids about the amount of time they spend texting, watching videos and/or playing games on their phones.

Curfews are another source of heated debate… It was an ongoing battle with my Dad. I wanted to stay out much later than my parents would let me. Today's teens are no different.

Other common arguments include grades, personal appearance, dishonesty, and food. Parents still want their kids to eat more fruits and vegetables, drink less soda, and sit down for family dinners.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
