For the sixth year, the Children's Museum of Maine is offering free admission Friday in honor of the children of Sandy Hook.

The sixth annual Joyful Children's Day is a day created after that tragic day in 2012 at the Sandy Hook School. It is a celebration of children and families of Maine where there will be arts and crafts, and all day read-a-thon where 100 stories will be read in 9 hours and all the other exhibits at the Children's Museum and Theater of Maine in Portland will be free.

Free admission runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. so children of all ages will be able to participate. You can learn more about the event on the Children Museum and Theater of Maine's Facebook event page for the sixth annual Joyful Children's Day.
