Acadia Voted No. 1 by Good Morning America [Photos]

Maine's Acadia National Park received national recognition when ABC's Good Morning America announced it had been selected by viewers as "America's Favorite Place." 

The month-long contest was promoted on Good Morning America, with votes submitted on the program's Twitter and Facebook feeds. Acadia emerged as one of five finalists, going up against Lake Tahoe, the Chicago Lakefront, Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Glacier National Park in Montana, with excitement building locally leading up to the announcement live from Jordan Pond during the program.
