A left turn after stopping at a red light? What could go wrong?

Actually, this is allowed in a lot of cities throughout the country. You stop, you look, and then you go left... at a red light.

Right now in Maine, you can do this for a right hand turn, (if there are no signs telling you not to).

The proposed bill would let you do the same for a left turn. The Department of Transportation has to look at a few things like how many pedestrians at the intersection, the complexity of the intersection, and how close to schools, fire stations, homes or places for the blind.

I'm not sure about this one. I think people have a hard enough time just following red, green and yellow.
